A well-defined, multi species symbiotic product that promotes a balanced gut microbial flora through the combined action of probiotics and prebiotics. Mixed with the feeds.
The use of probiotics is indeed recommended to rapidly establish (in the case of day old chicks) or regained the Microflora balance (in the case of older birds) a beneficial microflora after the antibiotic treatment. For example, if the antibiotic is used during the first 3 days the application of probiotics should start on day 4.
Probiotics are compatible with many AGP. Usually the AGPs are included in concentrations that are below the inhibitory concentration limits for our probiotics. We currently have a list of AGP that can be used with Poultry Star. Moreover, in markets were an “ad libitum” use of antibiotics is allowed, intestinal dysbiosis can be created resulting in intestinal inflammation.
The bacteria contained in Poultry Star me (micro encapsulated) have a protective coating that make them more tolerant to heat stress than uncoated bacteria. Pelleting temperatures up to 85 degrees Celsius are compatible with Poultry Star me. In any case, it is extremely important to know that the bacterial strains contained in Poultry Star are living organisms and thus they have the ability to replicate within the intestine. This product behaves completely different to products that many nutritionists are used to like enzymes which are cellular products with no capacity of self-replication.
The process of expansion or extrusion is NOT compatible with Poultry Star. In these cases we can recommend the use of Poultry Star sol in the drinking water.
